From being a common nesting bird in the 70's and 80's, House Martins have not been seen nesting in this area for years.

However this photograph shows one of four that were collecting material from the south edge of Alexandra Lake on 6th July, with frequent re-visits at intervals of a few minutes, which seems to indicate quite local nest-building.
