This bee was digging in the sandy soil by Alexandra Lake, Wanstead Flats.

I believe it is Andrena thoracica.

It looks somewhat like Andrena nitidahowever, in none of the images of this species I have seen, nor in text, does it mention this species being attracted to sandy soils such as this, but more usually grassland.
