This is probably Andrena fulva, the Tawny Mining Bee, which is common in much of southern Britain.

According to Falk (2015) it visits various spring-flowering shrubs as well as herbaceous plants. There can be large colonies of this species, including on footpaths. This one was photographed in such a situation on one of the paths crossing the Plain in Wanstead Park.
