This is a small ladybird - only 3-4mm long - and thus may be easily overlooked. This was the first that I had seen, on then sandy soil by Alexandra Lake on Wanstead Flats. Subsequently, however, they were more frequently seen, particularly on and around felts put out for reptile studies in the Exchange Lands near Wanstead Park.
