This small tree from eastern N. America was first introduced into Britain in 1870 (Mitchell 1974). It can naturalise in this country, but is only known in the City of London Cemetery as specimen trees planted in various locations. This one is in the Memorial Gardens between Limes Avenue and Gardens Way.
