This plant was in what used to be a drainage ditch running parallel to Centre Road.

The extensive fire on Wanstead Flats on 15th June 2018 cleared the ditch of much of the vegetative growth that had been blocking and obscuring it and this plant - the first of the species to have been recorded on Wanstead Flats - was seen.
